My name is Michele Kent and I am based on the Isle of Wight and owner of Wight Canine Therapy. I have a level 3 diploma in Galen Myotherapy registered with Galen. I also hold a Canine First Aid Certificate, Certificates is Gait & Lameness, Canine Anxiety, Canine Psychology and Animal Reiki. I offer treatments to dogs on the Isle of Wight, either in my Treatment Room in Newport or in your dog’s homes. I am fully insured and only treat dogs with veterinary consent. I also offer an advice and support service via telephone and zoom to adoptees of rescue dogs from abroad, particularly Romania.

Dogs have always been my passion, I have the privilege of sharing my life with six: a mini smooth haired dachshund called Rolo, a mini wire-haired dachshund called Willow, (of a very dodgy polish descent) a Lurcher called Cleo, Pointer Sergucio rescue from Cyprus called Lambi and two Romanian rescue dogs called Nellie and Lyra. All with very different personalities & traits and all humble and amaze me every day.

I have always wanted to work with dogs but never previously had the opportunity to however, when nearing a milestone birthday, I decided it was now or never. After researching different fields and deciding training to be a behaviourist was not a good idea with my unruly brood, I luckily came across Galen Myotherapy, I loved the ethos and connection with the dogs, the understanding of how they communicate and giving dogs the choice to be treated. This set me on the path to qualify as a Galen Myotherapist.

I have a special interest in Romanian rescue dogs and have gained experience through my own dogs and work with a Romanian Rescue Charity advising new adoptees. I have researched and studied these complex independent dogs and understand the challenges they face adapting to new environments and the struggles they have learning to live alongside us. Galen Myotherapy has been instrumental in helping these dogs both physiologically and behaviourally.
