This course is externally accredited by Laser Learning Awards which is an Ofqual-regulated Awarding Organisation. This is a non Ofqual regulated qualification but meets the same standards.

COURSE UNITS
Unit One - The Structure and Function of the Cell, Connective Tissue and Skin in Canines Understand the mammalian cell, the structures and how it functions. How substances enter and leave the cell, together with the different processes. The differences between mitosis and meiosis and the different stages of change within these processes of cell division. The different types of connective tissue within the canine body, their components and function. The main structures of the canine skin, the position and function of the structures involved. Some common ailments of the canine skin.
Unit Two - The Canine Skeletal and Muscular Systems Understand the anatomical structure, function and location of different joints within the canine body. The structure, function and location of synovial joints. The anatomical position of the bones within the canine body, What comprises the long bone. Different skeletal structures and their individual functions. A detailed anatomical look at the canine’s foot and paw. Understanding the different muscle types within the body, their function, location and their comparisons depending on role.
Unit Three - The Canine Circulatory and Respiratory Systems Understand the structures and function of the canine heart. Discuss all the anatomical features. Explaining the heart with its relationship to blood vessels and their function. Explain the function and structure of blood and its components. Understand the structure and function of the canine respiratory system. Outline the function and location of the major respiratory structures.
Unit 4 - The Canine Nervous, Endocrine And Digestive Systems Understand the structure and function of the canine nervous, endocrine and digestive systems and how these impact on the overall wellbeing of the canine. Explaining the role of a typical neuron, types of nerves/nervous tissue and explaining their specific function.
The main structures of the brain including the Pituitary Gland and the related hormones. Outline the function of the Digestive System and accessory organs and how nutrients are absorbed and processed.
REFUND POLICY
The Customer shall pay the course fee or deposit to the Provider to secure their place on the Course.
No refunds will be given after the 7 day cooling off period and customers must continue to pay the monthly instalments until all course fees are paid.
Students have 3 years to complete the Full Diploma Course. In exceptional circumstances learners may request a “one off” extension of up to one year.
